Ice conditions have been changing constantly this month. In the first week of november, the weather was calm and cold, and the ice started to freeze up. The following pictures were taken on November 9th – a sunny saturday afternoon. People of all ages walked down unto the ice – still uncovered by snow – to fish, play and enjoy the sunshine. It was a beautiful scenery.
Unfortunately, the ice broke off again due to a storm just a few days later, and there`s been no solid ice since then.
Yesterday, at about 1 pm, there was astonishing sunset. It was quite windy, and that made it even more special. I`d like to share some of this beauty with you.
About 20 minutes later, the light had changed…
On my way home…
Wonderful pictures Ruth – Want to come back to Ittoqqortoormiit once more 😊
I hope you will, some day 🙂 Isn´t it 2 years ago, now?
Was für schöne Bilder Ruth!!!! Da bekommt man Fernweh…..<3
I must say, that Arctic sun does some pretty amazing things! We have gorgeous sunsets all the time too. And very weird fog conditions!
