When travelling along the southern coast of Liverpool Land last week, I was once again astonished by its natural beauty.
I first visited this area in the spring of 2006, when I stayed in Ittoqqortoormiit for a couple of months.
I loved it so much that I promised myself to come back. And to get a dog-team to take me there.
I`ve been back many times since, and I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to spend time in this beautiful surroundings.
Maybe it is the contrast between the darkness of rocks and mountains, the whiteness of the snow and the blueness of the sky, that makes it so special to me.
Glaciers are coming down in between steep mountains.
How much beauty can we take into our eyes and minds, on a single day?
That question came to my mind, while I was sitting on my sledge.
Can we measure beauty in nature, and the effect it has on us? What`s its purpose?
I leave you with the questions, for now, but will be thinking about them some more …
… until I hopefully come back, next year!
That IS beautiful…
Thanks…
I think appreciation of the beauty around you is enough. I have friends whose response to my telling them that I am going to Greenland is ” but there’s nothing there “
I agree, – it is there to be enjoyed and appreciated!! I also sometimes get that respons you mention, and find it hard to change the perspective people can have of the North – maybe one has to visit the Arctic to truly be able to see it`s beauty?
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing you adventures and photos. It is appreciated very much.
Glad to hear that!!
🙂
Wonderfull Ruth! It is so peacefull. Miss
🙂
Lengtar tilbake…
Beautiful photos!
