Yesterday morning around 7.30 am, a polar bear crossed the street close to the bridge into Ittoqqortoormiit. 😲 The bear helped himself to some dogfood stored in a wooden box right behind a team of screaming sled dogs. 🐕 - Our local ranger made the bear go away and followed it down onto the sea-ice on a skidoo, to make sure it would not come back again. ❄️ Unfortunately, in the dark, he ended up on thin ice. The skidoo broke through the ice and sank. 😯 The ranger survived! The owner of the dogs ran out onto the ice, to help him get into safety. 💪 Such bravery! 💙 Ingkasi is pointing to the polar bear's tracks in the snow from when it came into town. Further behind are the tracks it made when running away.
Our future home 💙😊 and the very last glimpse of the sun for the remaining year (pictures taken on the 18th). We have been working on cleaning, fixing and painting the house nearly every day for the last 3 weeks. 🔧 🏠 Looking forward to finishing up and moving in, very soon! 😄 #ittoqqortoormiit #ittoqqortoormiitliving #home #greenland #greenlandichouse #eastgreenland #arcticliving #smallhouseliving #smallhouse #smallhome
Home 💙 ❄️➡️ we moved our dogs to a different location today, while the sun rose ... and set. 🌅 Bundles of energy! 🐕😉 #greenland #greenlanddog #greenlandoutside #arcticsunset #lifeisbestoutside #getoutside #november #eastgreenland #ittoqqortoormiit #ittoqqortoormiitliving

This morning at 10.30 am in Ittoqqortoormiit. 🌅 Just a few days after the last boat ploughed through the new ice, two brave individuals were out walking on it today! ❄️ #seaice #sunrise #arcticsunrise #greenlandoutside #ittoqqortoormiit #greenland #greenlandpioneer #arctic #arctichorizons #eastgreenland #grønland
This morning in Ittoqqortoormiit - sea ice "pancakes" 😉 are getting thicker and all the boats were taken up on land by the end of the day. - I find myself taking about 10 pictures of the sun every single day right now. 😊☀️ Soaking in as much light as I can before the beginning of 2 months of polar night in about 12 days! #ittoqqortoormiit #eastgreenland #greenlandoutside #seaice #arcticmornings #arctic #greenland #november #arcticnovember #remotecommunity #lifeisbeautiful
